Mentoring new Mortgage Brokers |
Mentoring is mandatory!
New industry entrants cannot become accredited as Mortgage Brokers in Australia unless they have been mentored to a pre determined competency level.
Mentoring was introduced by MFAA and is endorsed by all major banks and lenders.
You can view the guidelines and other industry information on MFAA website.
As mentors, we assume that some basic knowledge already exists from your personal research, life experiences and learning outcomes from cert 1V (mortgage and finance).
Mentoring tends to focus on the sales cycle including document preparation and lodgment procedures.
Mentoring is usually hands-on starting with joint client interviews, software evaluation, loan selection, application processing, pre settlement customer liaison and settlement.
A growing method for training is online via webinar.
Webinar sessions can be recorded and archived which makes the technology ideal for remote mentees and those starting part time.
